ABOUT:
Mathew Wells was born in 2005 on the Isle of Wight. He has been interested in photography since receiving his first camera aged eight and has always gravitated towards sports photography, especially in the various disciplines of cycling.
Mathew has attended a wide variety of motorsports events from the Goodwood Festival of Speed, Shelsley Walsh Hillclimb to Rallycross at Lydden Hill and has honed his photographic style and distinct imagery in his work over a ten year period.
He has worked extensively across the Isle of Wight covering sports events for the Isle of Wight County Press newspaper as well as sailing events, including on-land shots for the Round The Island boat race and images for Cowes Week. One of his notable achievements was having some of his images published in the Cycling Weekly magazine when he covered Round 3 of the National Trophy Series (cyclocross).
In addition to sports photography, Mathew enjoys the challenge of street photography producing a stunning selection of images across this genre which are also showcased on this website.
